Day 1: HCMC
We’ll meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. The rest of your time is free to start exploring the wonderfully chaotic streets.

Day 2: HCMC - Cu Chi
This morning enter the depths of the earth through the famous Cu Chi Tunnels – the secret underground system that stretched for hundreds of kilometres during the war. Immerse yourself in recent history at the War Remnants Museum and Reunification Palace before fitting in some all important retail therapy. (B/L/D)

Day 3: HCMC - My Tho
After driving to the lush Mekong Delta, aka Vietnam’s ‘rice bowl’, we board our boat to cruise the Delta’s many waterways by boat, stopping to taste exotic flavours, fresh from the orchards, including honey. After a lunch of fresh, local ingredients, we head back to HCMC and you’re free to do your own thing. (B/L)

Day 4: HCMC - Phu Quoc
After breakfast we take you to the airport for your flight to beautiful Phu Quoc. After your hotel check-in, we head north to visit the Dinh Cau Temple, where local fisherman pray for luck before heading out to sea, and see how the tiny peppercorns, a Phu Quoc specialty, are grown. Then it’s across the national park to the Vietnam Cambodia border. After lunch you’re free to enjoy the beautiful beaches or explore further. After dinner, you also have the option to experience night squid fishing with local fisherman. (B/L/D)

Day 5: Phu Quoc
Today we visit the south of this unspoilt island, famous for many things, as you’ll discover as we visit an Australian pearl farm, taste the best fish sauce and the local wine, (no, not one and the same), see the local fisherman at work and before taking a beach break at sublime Sao beach. (B/L)

Day 6: Phu Quoc - HCMC
You’re free to relax on the beach or see the catch of the day at Duong Dong market before flying back to HCMC this afternoon. Start planning how to make the most of your last night in HCMC. (B/L)

Day 7: HCMC
Another free day before we take to you to the airport for your flight home. Do some last minute shopping. Eat up a storm. Book a complete spa package. Just enjoy. (B)

Day 4: Halong Bay - Hanoi - Sapa
Spend a leisurely day sailing spectacular Halong Bay. Weave by thousands of limestone islands, dotted with caves and grottos, that rise out of the tranquil waters. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch onboard before we head back to Hanoi to catch the overnight train to Lao Cai on the Chinese border. (B/L/D)

Day 5: Sapa
After breakfast in Lao Cai we drive to the former hill station town of Sapa, where the clothes and crafts of the local hilltribes fill the streets and markets with colour. (B/L)

Day 6: Sapa
Get an insight into hilltribe life in the village of Ta Phin before taking a scenic 2-hour trek to the meet the H’Mong and Red Dzao people in their villages. A genuinely enjoyable experience. (B/L)

Day 7: Sapa - Hanoi
If it’s a Sunday, the morning is spent at colourful Bac Ha market, where hilltribe people meet to sell their wares. On any other day, we’ll head to the hills for a trip to the Thai hilltribe villages of Binh Lu. Then it’s back to Hanoi on the overnight train from Lao Cai. (B/L/D)

Day 8: Hanoi - NinhBinh
Today you’ll see beauty to rival Halong Bay but this time on land. From the rice paddies of Tam Coc, small boats take us downstream through magnificent tunnels and caves. Enjoy the view from a cliff-side pagoda before we return to Hanoi, stopping at the Dinh and Le dynasty temples at Hoa Lu. (B/L/D)

Day 9: Hanoi
Make the most of your last day in Hanoi before we take you to the airport for your flight home. (B)

Day 6: Hue - Hoi An
There’s so much to see as we cruise down the Perfume River to the iconic Thien Mu pagoda before visiting the vast and ornate tombs of Vietnam’s last imperial dynasties, Emperors Minh Mang, Khai Dinh and Tu Duc. This afternoon we take a scenic drive over the stunning Hai Van Pass to Hoi An, visiting China Beach, Cham Museum and Marble Mountain on the way. (B/L)

Day 7: Hoi An
Once a thriving river port, historic Hoi An will charm you as we get to know its narrow streets, and explore ancient merchant houses, temples and covered Japanese bridges. It’s a free afternoon. Day 8: Hoi An - Danang – HCMC
Use this morning to do any last minute things around town before we head to Danang to fly to Ho Chi Minh City and our first dinner in this modern and vividly chaotic city. (B/L/D)

Day 9: HCMC - Cu Chi Tunnels
This morning we drive out to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels – so don’t eat too much breakfast. We’ll explore a section of this amazing underground network of tunnels that stretched for hundreds of kilometres. Back in town recent history is recalled at the War Remnants Museum and Reunification Palace. (B/L)

Day 10: HCMC - My Tho
We make our way through the lush countryside of the Mekong Delta, aka the ‘rice bowl’, to My Tho. Cruise waterways, stopping at abundant orchards to taste exotic fruits and delicious honey. The afternoon’s free back in town. (B/L)

Day 6: Hue - Danang - Hoi An

Day 10: Halong Bay - Hanoi
Spend a memorable day cruising one of the world’s great natural wonders. The bay’s thousands of limestone islands are filled with caves and grottos to explore. Day 11: Hanoi - Ninh Binh
From Tam Coc we cruise downstream in small boats through magnificent tunnels and caves in this stunning landscape known as Halong Bay on rice paddies. The view from a pagoda built into a cliff face is a must for your camera. At Hoa Lu we visit temples from the Dinh and Le dynasties before returning to lively Hanoi. (B/L)

Day 12: Hanoi
Make your own way today. This city of wide boulevards and restful lakes is full of hidden treasures. The bustling Old Quarter is also a must. (B)

Day 13: Hanoi - Luang Prabang
This morning we fly to the former royal town of Luang Prabang via Vientiane. Once our local guide has settled you into your hotel the rest of the day is free to get into the languid pace. Meet the local hilltribe people selling their wares at the market or try your first Lao coffee – perhaps at a little French patisserie. (B/D)

Day 14: Luang Prabang
After visiting the former Royal Palace on the river, we start exploring this wonderland of gilded wats at Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Ami and Wat Visoun. In the afternoon a short boat ride down the Mekong takes you to Pak Ou caves, filled with hundreds of Buddha statues. Back in town, take in the sunset panorama from Mount Phousi. (B/L)

Day 15: Luang Prabang
This is a great place to chill out so nothing’s planned for today. You may want to step out at dawn to see the monks receiving alms, or organise a ride out to the Kuang Si falls. (B)

Day 16: Luang Prabang - Vientiane
A free morning before your flight to friendly Vientiane. We tour the golden splendour of Wat Phat That Luang, as well as Wat Haw Phra Kaew and the oldest temple, Wat Si Saket. Patouxai, the Laos version of an Arc de Triomphe, is also on the agenda. The rest of the day is free. Head down to the Mekong for a Beer Lao at sunset. (B/L/D)

Day 17: Vientiane - Phnom Penh
After flying to Phnom Penh, our guide will meet you and take you to your hotel. After lunch we visit the Royal Palace, the shimmering Silver Pagoda and the National Museum. Then view the city from the Mekong on a river cruise. (B/L/D)

Day 18: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap
You’ll fly to Siem Reap, gateway to the amazing temples of Angkor, and should be in your hotel in time for lunch. Your day is free to explore the local markets or simply relax by the pool. (B/L/D)

Day 19: Siem Reap
Today is spent at the amazing temples at Angkor. Wonder at the carvings of Banteay Srei, Neak Pean, Preah Khan. In the afternoon explore junglebound Ta Keo and Ta Prohm before the unforgettable sight of sunset over magnificent Angkor Wat. Enjoy traditional dancing at this evening’s dinner. (B/L/D)

Day 20: Siem Reap
